Growing out the pixie haircut

Crap! I hate my freakin hair!!!! Growing out the pixie, should be renamed "your hair is aliveeee", because during the whole process, your hair looks like its going to escape from your head, and run into the forest to join some jungle tribe you never heard of.

I am seriously confused by the whole styling processes. All those foams and waxes, and clips make me want to curl up in a ball and slide back and forth singing the theme song from "Gladiator".
My inability to cope with the reality that my hair is transforming into a fluffy bunny, makes it even harder to figure out ways of taming her.

If you decide to cut your hair into a pixie...brace yourself for this:

1. Three months after the cut
                                                                         Source

2. Six months after the cut. Oh God, when will this horror eeeend???

3.  11 months after the cut....no...comment...

ALERT:
The back of your hair will always, I mean ALWAYS, grow into a gorgeous mullet.  If you want to look like MacGyver with a shiny mullet from the 80's, go for it. Sooner or later you would have to  cut it though and you'll end up with something like this:

I look like my Grandma! This is the only solution I could come up with- a stupid headband. If I try anything else, I just end up looking like my boyfriend when he hadn't had a haircut for years...sniff!

  1. A grandma with a neon pink mullet would be a pretty badass grandma! But seriously, I think your hair looks pretty sweet. I can see why it could be frustrating, though. My only funny story is that I cut my hair above my ears once, and because it's so poofy, I basically had an afro. It was, um, interesting.

  2. Argh, growing your hair out from a pixie is awful. I had a super frizz-curl mullet going on when I grew mine out and there was nothing that could save me. (Lots and lots of baseball caps. Yup, that was good times.) That said, your pixie actually looks really cute growing out! It looks like it's all about the same length and you don't have those horrible side-wings that come with the grow out process. (No way, you will never look like a dude! Too cute for that!)

  6. You look like a very pretty zombie.
You know what, I got a mullet without wanting it. I lost 1/2 of my hair due to a pneumonia, then it started to grow back on the top of my head leading to short hair on the top and long in the back. Nice.

  13. oh well, if you're planning to have a long hair... you need to go through that three step, though the step 3 - 11 months after the cut is not that good, you have to deal with it. lol! by the way, i like your spike headband.

  16. Kate your grandma must be one enormously pretty and stylish lady if you look anything like her! All the same I feel your pain - I remember trying to grow my hair out from the one time I had it short. It took FOREVER!!

  17. oh gosh, you're just hilarious! those first three photos and your comments are too brilliant :D I hope you're going to find the way to rule your hair though ;) I remember when I had very short hair and my hair is curly so it was really bad, haha. natural curls do everyhing they want to do. they just drive you crazy.

  20. Hahaha! Those are perfect images. So perfect. I don't think I'll ever be cutting my hair too short, so hopefully the dreaded mullet won't be something I see in the mirror anytime soon.

That pink spike headband is really awesome. And your ability to wear that leather skirt is amazing. It's such a cool skirt, and something I'm sure only you could pull off, Keit!!

  22. I sympathise completely with your hair issues - I had a pixie cut ones, years ago, and growing it out was the worst year of my life. I always looked so awkward! The headband does help, though, honestly - they'll become your best friend through the process :) Love your leather skirt and jumper!
