Monthly Favorites: April

April disappeared, as fast as you could say: "When is Spring going to happen anyway!?" and it's time for another boring Monthly Favorites post! This month was excessively gloomy and so was my mood, but I was able to find joy in the simple pleasures like, abusing my body to perform push ups and making fun of my smaller cat, for being as stupid as a slipper.
Amid these mature activities, I was able to gather a few precious things, that made my Month a little less gloomy. So here they are!

Thanks to the awesome bloggers "The Book Thieves" I was able to encounter this book and devour it like cold beer on a Hugh Jackman movies marathon.
I would strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to write nonfiction and to anyone who hasn't even thought about writing, and thinks that the whole process is just a needle in the ass.

William Zinsser's writing is warm and engaging. He appreciates individuality and the fact that every person has his own style of writing, but still manages to give you tons of advice on how to expand this style. Perhaps the best advice for me was "KEEP IT SIMPLE". I never knew I could keep it simple! I always thought that you have to write inhumanly long pretentious sentences, while holding a glass of martini and an olive... so glad I was wrong!

Favorite Japanese Thingy

Notebook and Origami

Yup, my April favorite is a simple boring notebook! But what I love about it, is that it's fat and juicy, perfect for my Japanese grammar. It's made from recycled paper and has a peculiar vintage feel. I picked this particular one, because the eagle looks like he's screaming at me. Whenever I don't feel like studying, I just have to glance towards the judgmental eagle shouting: "You stupid shit, why you no study!"

Favorite Cosmetics

You all know I'm no fancy pants! I rarely use any cosmetics, other than eyeliner and lipstick and I always buy the cheapest products and hope for the best. So, when my sister bought me Vichy's special edition box I was kind of skeptical. Other than the fact, that the box itself looks like something I would kill for, I didn't think it would make me look pretty. But I was pleasantly surprised.

Vichy Tin Box

Who wouldn't kill for that!

Vichy Idealia Life Serum
The product that did the trick for me was the Idealia Life Serum. Don't know if you guys know it already, but the Idealia Life Serum is a serum that helps the skin fight behavioral aging, or said with human words- it recovers the skin from: stress, pollution, smoke, UV rays and unbalanced diet. The formula of the serum is said to:
  • Freshen the complexion
  • Even the skin tone
  • Refine pores
  • Illuminate the skin
Maybe I've got a placebo thing going on, but after two weeks of using this, my skin feels fresh, energetic, soft and looks much more radiant.
One thing the serum didn't achieve though, is to refine the pores. They're as shitty as ever! (sniff)

Have you guys used this serum?

Zara Backless Lace Dress

I first saw this dress on Zara's website and I fell in love with the bare back. But like most good things in life, this dress costed a fortune and I had to fight the urge, to punch myself in the stomach for being so poor. I was euphoric when I saw the same dress, brand new with the label intact, for half the price, on "olx.bg" (It's basically the Bulgarian equivalent of Ebay). I'm showing you just the half of it, because I'm planing on making an outfit post with it and I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise *_*

So these are my April favorites. Hope you guys didn't snooze or anything. Tell me what are your April Favorites?

Lace Slip Dress

One of the trends that caught my eye last year was the cami/slip dress. I'm usually not a trendy person and it feels weird to wear something, just because someone said it's trendy. But the slip dress was a dream come true! Who wouldn't want to walk down the streets dressed in their pajamas!

(enjoy the awkward blooper smile)
Lace Slip Dress

The slip dress I'm sporting here is Kookai and I bought it from our online second hand store Remix. I love mixing feminine pieces with rough and rugged ones, so I paired the dress with black patent combat boots and the choker from Bornpretty.
How would you guys wear a slip dress?

Lace Slip Dress

I don't know whether it was because my bra was showing, or because this dress is so freakin alluring (maybe it was both), but many heads were turning and nodding in approval on the day I wore it. Felling like a hot potato!

Boyfriend Jeans & Red Patent Loafers

Helloooow! How was your Oyster? Mine was swell, I did absolutely nothing - the perks of living away from your family! I spent the whole Holiday in pajamas, eating greasy pizza, and googling photos of Hugh Jackman (good times!).

For the girlies who asked what I'll be doing for the Birthday, I'm planning on throwing a big ass party on Friday, with the hope that I won't embarrass myself too much, or at least not as much as I usually do.

Boyfriend Jeans Outfit

Fashiony part!

Spring has finally arrived with annoying bugs, high temperatures and bold Spring fashion colors! I decided to take my boyfriend jeans for a little walk around our park, since googling Hugh Jackman photos was starting to get boring. I paired them with my brand new red patent loafers, which I snatched from a Bulgarian shop for a measly 9$!
There's something very alluring in patent loafers. The delicate gloss adds a superb vintage feel and it look astonishingly well, dressed both casual and formal. The red top is a very lucky second hand find. I've always loved the color red, and not the one to brag, but I think I look awesome in red!

The whole red-denim mix is something I've been wanting to try since I got my first pair of red shoes and I think it turned out quite nicely. Thank you Sammydress, for sending me boyfriend jeans, that don't make me look as if I've murdered someone fat and then slipped into their pants!

Side Split Maxi Skirt & Bornpretty Choker Necklace

I bought this side split skirt for my Birthday and I was planning on wearing it bare legged and skanky, but alas! Even the weather revolts against my attempts, to flash my cheesy white skin in the eyes of non suspecting pedestrians.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention it's my Birthday today! Yaaaay? Another year of accomplishing absolutely nothing! Feels good to be quarter of a century old and still not doing anything other, than aimlessly floating through space. At least I have the small solace that lots of famous people were born on the 20th of April! Whenever someone finds out I was born on the same date as Hitler, they always exclaim: "Ooooh, that explains a lot!". Really? What does it explain exactly? I would love to know!

Side Split Maxi Skirt

Fashiony Part:

I've been searching for a grunge-like side split skirt for weeks and finally found this beauty, swimming majestically in the sea of online shopping. I thought it would look perfect with my new Bornpretty choker necklace. It's been a while since I've worn a choker. I had a black leather one with studs, in high school. It was the kind of choker, you'll have more luck seeing on a bulldog, than on a human being, but I loved it!

Styling this was a no brainer. After all it's black, you can put a nylon bag on top of it and it would look fashionable. Although, I'm not quite sure about this cardigan. I got it from a thrift store and it looks like something my dad would wear to a funeral...
You already know the purple top from my previous post, necklace and silver ring are from Bornpretty and you can use my code KEITMC10 to get a 10% off their amazing inexpensive jewelry!

Choies High Waist Leather Skirt & Shark Weeks

Choies Skater High Waist Leather Skirt
Who else here calls their period Shark Week??? Yes, I said the word period. I've lasted 2 years without mentioning the word period on this blog, but knowing my love for the inappropriate, it was bound to happen! God, feels good to get it off my chest! So yeah, period

Choies Leather Skirt

One of the things I enjoy watching, regardless of the day or mood, are Shark related movies and programs. (still haven't watched "Sharknado", but I'm sure it's going to be priceless)
There's nothing better than a rainy afternoon, cup of coffee and humans being devoured by sharks on the telly.

So, I bought this t-shirt that not only has the best shark movie printed on it, but it glows in the dark too! *_* I've been telling all my friends to come and join me in the toilet, so I can show them something cool...Now that I think about it, this might not be the best way to approach things.
I gave the tee a little trim on the bottom, because it's a man's t-shirt and it was too long for my short sexe body. Does it show? I hope not! I suck with scissors!

I decided to style my "Jaws" tee with the new high waist leather skirt I got from Choies. I have another high waist leather skirt just like this one, the only difference is that it's shape is a bit fluffy and I can't really wear it everyday. Soooo, I got a new leather skirt that is slightly different from the one I previously owned... Great way to support consumerism!

Do you guys like shark programs? If yes, why? If not, why not!??? They're the best!

Choies Stripe Cropped Top & A Tale of Crazy Parents

Sorry for not being active on your blogs girlies, but I've been away to visit my crazy parents. I haven't seen them in months and I was preoccupied with being spoiled, because I was born. Yay!

My mother is a crazy woman. When I was a teenager she was the person to go out at night, with pajama and slippers, to "look for me", because apparently being 10 minutes late meant: "died somewhere in the gutters". One time she thought I was snorting cocaine, because I had a runny nose and constantly had to sniff my flowing snots. If I started exercising, she assumed I was turning anorexic. So immediately the table would be cluttered with thousands of meatballs, dozen different salads and three types of cake, just to check if I would eat it.

But she's not just crazy, she's the kind of selfless mother that would rather arrange your underwear in an alphabetical order, than to do something to enjoy herself. She represents everything modern feminism detests. So when I heard she made a "garden" in our block's transformer station I had an urge to share it with you guys. We live on the 3rd floor and our transformer is right underneath the balcony. I'm scared shittles going down there, but mom isn't. She just goes down a ladder, making dad regret he even placed that damn ladder in the first place...

See?

Told you she was crazy!
Is it just me, or are your parents crazy too? Let me know if your family can compete with mine on the level of craziness!

Fashiony part: Who here likes the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series?...I don't! But I like Freddy Krueger's shirt, so I used it as an inspiration for this look. I had difficulties with the tights, because the hole you see now, wasn't as big in the beginning...
In the beginning, the hole was created...! (did you caught the reference? I'm so funny, right!?) Anyways, with the process of walking, the hole began to enlarge and in the end of the day I had a huge perfectly round planet on my leg. I still think it's cool though!

Btw, the lovely Katarina from the awesome blog Dare 2 Wear interviewed me for her blog's lounge section.  If you'd like to know more about yours truly, be sure to stop by her blog! ^_^
